Pastor's Corner: March 24

Posted on March 25, 2024 in: Pastor's Corner

I know you have reminders all over the place! Posters in the church, graphics on social media, schedules in the bulletin, even a postcard in the mail. But, let me offer a couple of words about this week, this Holy Week:

Monday and Wednesday are our last public opportunities for confession before Easter. Consider celebrating this sacrament of God’s mercy as a way to immerse ourselves in the love poured out on the Cross.

New to us this year: Morning Prayer on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at St Lawrence which is a wonderful way to reflectively begin these holy moments.

A special invite from our Diocesan Church: Get Up and Pray! Let’s take up the old custom of visiting churches on Holy Thursday night. We pray before the Blessed Sacrament, recalling Christ’s invitation to his disciples to pray with him in his agony in the garden. We’re especially invited on this night when Christ gave the priesthood along with the Eucharist to his Church to pray for our priests and our seminarians.
