Food donations -
Food donations have been outstanding. We are filling our bins at both parishes every week and delivering the food. Thanks! The need is massive as you see in the news. Every food pantry is now receiving twice the demand because of families who before this had never been unemployed.
New Lectors -
We welcome Jack Fink and Karen Kirk-Newman who were trained this week. They will be helping to proclaim the Word of God at St Boniface.
3rd Quarter Financials -
This period covered Jan/Feb/Mar. St Lawrence had a surplus of $10,094 and St Boniface was in the black with $15,604. This includes some improvements like the new Air Conditioning at St L, and the Lounge upgrade and new PA system at St Boniface. No savings were touched in either case. However, Masses stopped on March 17th. Any decline in collections will not show until the next report in July.
Thanks to catechists -
Although we have no classes, teachers have stayed in touch with parents and children to foster their continued learning about our faith. Bravo to them for making these calls and creating lesson plans. Mom & Dad, hopefully you can keep this going.
Homebound outreach -
Many of you have been asking if we are staying in touch with them. The CARE team calls them on a regular basis and in the process asks about food and meds. Fr Bill called them all during Holy Week to wish a Happy Easter.
Parish Gifts -
There is so much need now and yet limited ways to help people during this crisis. After doing some research, St Boniface was able to financially contribute to the Sojourners Truth soup kitchen and also to the Central PA Food Bank. The parish is fortunate to have an emergency/charity fund created by a family’s generosity.
