Consecration of the U.S. to Mary is timely and fitting

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. bishops, under the leadership of Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, will consecrate the United States to the maternal care of the Blessed Virgin Mary on May 1. This act of entrusting the nation to Our Lady coincides with similar initiatives in other countries as well, including Canada and Italy.
