Council members also participate in a variety of outreach efforts that affect the broader community with a vision for the future and a strong basis in stewardship. There are a total of 11 membership seats. Currently six members are from St Lawrence and 4 members from St Boniface with one vacancy. The Council’s By-Laws require that three (3) seats are filled by members of each Parish. Each elected member serves a 3-year
term. Every year, 1/3rd of the active council members who have completed their 3-year term depart the council and new candidates are elected to assume those positions. Due to the merger of both Parish Councils in January, this year we are seeking nominations to fill five (5) new members from parishioners from either Parish (1 2-year term and 4-year term. Forms for nominations will be available at both parishes over 2 weekends beginning March 20th and again on the 27th. To be eligible, a member must be 18 years old and must be an active parish member. I am here today to ask for your prayerful consideration of candidates who might serve our parishes in this important capacity. Yes, parishioners may nominate themselves.
Present council members (Ken Danielsen/Tina Pulver/Joe Bering) should be able to address any further questions you might have regarding the electoral process, after Mass over the next several weekends.
May our God and Savior continue to shower you with extraordinary blessings during this most solemn Lenten Season. Thank you for your attention."
