Celebrate World Day of Prayer for Vocations this Sunday, April 25! We pray for young men and women; That God may give them the gift of understanding to discern their service in the Church, the priesthood, diaconate, or consecrated life; And for the gift of courage to follow His call.

The Diocese of Scranton celebrates the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Bishop Joseph C. Bambera will celebrate Mass at 5:00p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Peckville. Vocation directors and members of religious communities serving in the Diocese of Scranton will be in attendance. Father Andy Kurvosky, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, will serve as homilist at the Mass. In the video, Father Alex Roche, Diocesan Director of Vocations and Seminarians, discusses the importance of praying for vocations. The purpose of World Day of Prayer for Vocations is to publicly fulfill the Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2).
