June 5 is the feast day of St. Boniface, the “Apostle of the Germans” and patron saint of Germany! St. Boniface was an educator and reformer, and influenced the course of intellectual, political, and ecclesiastical history in Germany and France throughout the Middle Ages. He unified the missionary movement by bringing it under the control of Rome. In the words of St. Boniface: "The Church is like a great ship being pounded by the waves of life’s different stresses. Our duty is not to abandon ship, but to keep her on her course."
