We are all exhausted by breaking news and political wrangling. But as Christians we can’t stop caring, throw up our hands and say “whatever”. This week has numerous memorials that highlight injustice and gaps in achieving a just society. Prejudice still flourishes as we remember the birthday of Martin Luther King.  Abortions continue among the poorest and most vulnerable women as we mark the Roe vs. Wade decision. St. Lawrence Pancake Breakfast The St. Lawrence Parish Activity Committee will be hosting another fabulous Pancake Breakfast on February 10th. Join us! Come in out of the cold and get warm with coffee or hot chocolate and breakfast with all you can eat pancakes. We will be selling tickets after each Mass, the pre-sale is $8.00 adults and $4.50 youth 12 & under. This Program comes on the heels of the Grand Jury report, and is the latest step the Diocese has taken as we work to support survivors of abuse and eradicate abuse from the Church altogether. Bible Study Series Update

Bible Study Series The Little Rock Scripture Study is a very user-friendly style that educated as it inspired. I find it very pastoral in its ability to apply the passages to our lives and prompt reflective questions of the group. Thus, it will require that everyone read the Scripture text and commentary provided in the booklet. Children's Liturgy

STARTING THIS MONTH....we will start a special Children's Liturgy of the Word (scripture reading geared to children) during some of the 10:30am Masses on Sundays at St Boniface.  Several people have volunteered.  We still need more.  Teenagers are welcome.  Voice an interest to Father Bill at Frbillc@comcast.net or call 570.326.1544.   Children would retreat to the newly renovated Music Room and hear the Gospel for their age group.  They would return to their families in the church during the Creed.  It's meant to give parents a break and allow the chidren to hear the word...
