Blessed by magnificent weather, we enjoyed one of the best carnivals ever. While the money it raised will be superb support to St Boniface, I'm more impressed with the friend-raising that it spawned. Many more people joined in as volunteers. Lycoming students, new parishioners and veterans of the parish had a chance to work side by side. This only makes us better as we stand and pray together.
Finally, we need to express our gratitude to the parish activities committee. They organize the smallest details and devoted hours to a successful 3 days. Bravo to all.
May God bless your aching backs.

THANK YOU for making the 2019 carnival a huge success!! We were finally blessed with great weather for all 3 nights! Our Fabulous Chef and kitchen staff prepared over 700 meals during the 3-day event. The dining room staff met that challenge like a well-oiled machine. Everyone was greeted with a smile and enjoyed delectable desserts prepared by our parishioners. Outside the smell of pierogis, hot sausage, and onions filled the air. The food stand crew fought through long lines and tired feet to provide our patrons with full stomachs. Thank you to everyone that filled the open positions to allow the food stand to run smooth...

As you can tell from my tone as I speak of the Annual Appeal, I'm treating it differently than last year. The Bishop and the Diocese have been very responsive to the suggestions and comments of the priests of Lycoming County. This year is demonstrably hopeful. Besides that, in the past weeks, I've tapped diocesan assistance for:
advice on campus ministry at Lycoming College,
use of a Spanish speaking priest,
recommendations on safety & security,
opinions on liturgical art for the sanctuaries
Scranton is helping us in more ways than you know. They help me ...

The relatively calm of summer has passed. I hope you had a chance to linger over some meals outside, savor fresh fruit, exercise, read a worthwhile book and pray quietly. But how do you save some of that glow as you face the onslaught of fall activities? The best of the saints has recommended to us... balance. Work diligently yet not confusing lengthy hours for productivity. Maybe, you can schedule yourself with breaks in between. Offer a brief time of prayer in the morning asking for the Holy Spirit's guidance. Pause at night when the lights are low and thank Jesus, no matter how the day went. The...

Often, people will ask, “how is the parish progressing?” Sometimes they expect you to focus on attendance or contributions. While both have been very gratifying, my best indicator is the willingness of parishioners to volunteer, to get involved.
That has been superb and seems to expand regularly. This is part of our role as baptized members of the church of Jesus. The mission belongs to all of us, not just the Boys in Black and therefore, we are all responsible for its actions.
I’ve seen a healthy response when we wanted to initiate Children&r...
