PLEASE USE CAUTION! PREP classes have begun. We will be observing a staggered dismissal again this year with dismissal beginning at 10:10am. Please observe caution when entering the parking lots. Parishioners attending the 10:30am Mass who arrive before 10:25 AM should refrain from parking in the alley (from the Penn Street entrance to the flag pole) so that parents can use the alley to pick up students at PREP dismissal. The addition of a Sunday Mass at 5pm was quite enjoyable. About 28 arrived that would have been at other more crowded Masses. We had lovely guitar music with singing. The intimate nature of the Mass allowed us to have Prayers of the Faithful where parishioners were invited to add their own. The Extra Mass on Sundays 5pm at St. Boniface will end March 28th (Palm Sunday). Starting April 4th Sundays 8am at St. Boniface will be added until end of May. The 8am Mass at St Lawrence remains the same.

This year we are participating in the Salvation Army Christmas Project to provide gifts for children in our community. A wreath is placed at St. Boniface and a tree at St. Lawrence with tags describing what is requested by a child. The Salvation Army has asked us not to wrap the gifts, however, unwrapped gifts placed in gift bags are fine. Place your unwrapped gift under the wreath or tree no later than November 29th. Annual Fish Dinner

The St. Boniface Annual Fish Dinner will be held Ash Wednesday February 26th at the St. Boniface elementary school gym from 4-7pm. Adults are $10.00 and children under 12 are $5.00. Take outs are available. Fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, green beans, brownie sundaes and drinks will be served family style. Tickets will be available after all masses or at the parish office. If you would like to help in the dining room please contact Judy Wagner 570-916-2519. Help is also needed to set up at 1pm Wednesday afternoon.

Prayer Luncheon

The Notre Dame Club of Greater Williamsport will be holding its annual prayer luncheon on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the St Lawrence Church Parish Hall, 800 W. Central Ave, S. Williamsport. Featured speaker will be Fr. Bill Corcoran who will speak about “The Church and Celibacy: Changes in the Near Future?” A full ham dinner will be served at $15 per person. The seventh grade PREP class is sponsoring clothing drive this holiday season to benefit the Sojourner Truth Mission in Williamsport. Please stop by the wooden tree display to pick up a list of needed items. Items may be placed in the bin under the tree. January 5th will be the last collection date. Your help in providing warmth for those in need is greatly appreciated! It is also a wonderful teaching moment for the youth of St. Lawrence and St. Boniface.

Beginning Friday, December 6th, you’re invited to join together for mass on Friday morning at St. Boniface at 8AM followed by the Rosary and then a visit to a local restaurant for breakfast (Dutch treat). Ten parishioners from St. Lawrence Church formed the new council, the first our church has had in many years. Two of these council members have terms that will expire at the end of this year making it necessary for St. Lawrence to elect replacements. The St. Lawrence Parish Activity Committee Pancake Breakfast is Sunday, October 6th from 8am to 12:30pm. Committee members will be selling tickets after Mass. Our mission is to serve those in need both in our Williamsport community and overseas by living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are currently looking for volunteers. One of the local projects is with Sojourner Truth Ministry (STM) in Williamsport. Volunteers are needed to pick-up/deliver donated food every Tuesdays and help prepare and serve lunches on Thursdays. Daily Masses April 30th – May 2nd Most of the priests in the Diocese will be on a retreat and at meetings with the Bishop from Monday afternoon April 29th until Thursday, May 2nd in the afternoon. Daily mass on Tue/Wed/Thu will only be celebrated at St. Boniface Church and at 8am. No other area parishes will have Mass. Father Charles Cummings will be the Celebrant and will be living in the St Boniface rectory. Let us Pray for all our priests.

At the Easter Vigil we welcome them into our Catholic Faith. Closing Day Mass is April 14th at St. Lawrence 9:00 a.m. – We are very blessed that some of our youth are assisting at this Closing Day Mass as Readers and Altar Servers. We invite parents as well and ask that our youth in Kindergarten and 1st Grade sit as a class up front with their parents. We ask that our youth in 2nd to 8th grade will sit as a class and their parents will sit in pews surrounding them. Also, that our 8th grade class offer to service as greeters and ushers. Family Promise Host Week April 14-21

It's almost time for us to host the Family Promise guests again. Our next week will be April 14-21. St. Boniface Cemetery on Penn St. & Wyoming St. Please Join Us on Monday May 28th 9:00 am for Memorial Day Mass. Bring Your Chair & Join Us For Light Refresments after Mass. In case of inclement weather, Mass will be held in St. Boniface Church.

Family Promise Host Week May 20th - 27th

Host Week May 20th--Well it is almost time for us to host the Family Promise guests again. Our next week will be May 20th – 27th. Kathy Venaski is our Food Coordinator and can be reached at 570-419-5712 if you are able to provide dinner for one of the nights. Ray Fischer has agreed to be our Overnight Coordinator. He can be reached at 570-326-5464. At this time there are 4 families, 5 adults and 9 children in the program.
